Updating My Blog: A Branding Project

Typically I post about adventures. I wouldn’t say my blog is a travel blog, but it’s predominantly focused on that. I’d like to think it’s a lifestyle blog, but my life revolves around work, writing, and hanging out with my dog so…

Moving on.

When I first started this blog I wasn’t sure what to call it. I wanted to share the cool things I did while living abroad in England, but I was heading back to the states so I wanted it to encompass whatever my life would be here also.

Unfortunately, I was moving back in the winter. Rochester winters are worse than Siberia (literally! I’ve been tracking the temperatures between the two places).

I’m not a winter sports type of girl. I like mild temperatures, blue skies, and covering my face in sunscreen to avoid damage from the sun. I also like to be able to feel my finger tips. Winters in Rochester mean none of this things are possible — well, we do have the occasional blue sky even when the temperature drops below freezing, so there’s that.

Originally, I chose the name ‘Sonder Scribbles’, but as time has gone on (I mean it’s only been 5 months) and more posts have gone up (I think I have like 6 posts), I’m just not sure that fits anymore (because I’m indecisive and way too extra for my own good).

I needed to choose a new identity — to define my brand.

[Here is where I got really deep into branding discussion. I decided to cut it to keep this short and keep your attention].

In the end, my awesome friend Jacob suggested ‘Wandering Prose’. So Sonder Scribbles is now Wandering Prose and I think it suits the blog very well. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Anyway, thanks for following me and I will continue to post about my adventures (cherry picking the lovely parts of my life and leaving the boring bits behind — because that’s what everyone does right?)

Unless you want to hear about Harvey… 😉

Until my next adventure,

Jenn
